XIAMEN INTERNATIONAL STONE FAIR: An Affair with Stones

Stone XiamenDedicated exclusively to showcasing the newest in natural stone and relevant machinery, Xiamen International Stone Fair has grown into a prestigious annual international trade fair.

The year 2014 is a milestone year for Xiamen Stone Fair, as the number of exhibitors and visitors hit new peak at the fair.

The 14th China Xiamen International Stone Fair, which was held during 6-9 March 2014 at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, Xiamen, China, provided exhibitors with an invaluable platform for their products and innovative designs. According to reliable sources, 2,000 exhibitors from 54 countries participated in the fair, which covered an area of 166,000 sq. m. Over 142,498 industry professionals from 148 countries visited the fair – about 27,003 of them came from overseas countries. Around 200 companies of super-hard materials and tools also attended the fair and introduced their innovative products including ultra-fine diamond wire saw and diamond flexible discs.

China’s Market: Huge Potential

Despite the global economic slowdown and the economic challenges that China currently faces, the country’s total transaction volume of stone imports and exports in 2013 still managed to grow at a stable pace. It reached $9.484 billion, with an increase of 17.667 per cent over last year. The importing volume from 101 countries in 2013 reached $2.958 billion, 9.962 per cent more. Meanwhile, the exporting volume increased by 21.527 per cent compared to 2012.

Xiamen Gets Greater Business Opportunities

As the largest stone fair in the world, the Xiamen Stone Fair has turned into a big source of fame for Xiamen city. The Port of Xiamen is the biggest port in China for exporting and importing stone products. The Xiamen Stone Fair has brought great business opportunities to the city.

One-third of exports from Xiamen Port consist of stone exports. The Xiamen stone industry has been developing rapidly – thanks to the rich stone resource in Fujian Province. According to the Customs Statistics Data, Xiamen port has become the world’s largest stone trading centre, with its transaction volume representing over 60 per cent in China, 15 per cent in the world.

It may be mentioned that Xiamen is bounded by the largest stone-processing base, with over 1,200 trading companies and 10,000 stone-processing factories in its neighbouring area.

Besides, there are four distribution centres and markets in Xiamen for blocks from everywhere. More than 1,000 kinds of high-quality stones are imported and exported through Xiamen Port every year, where all kinds of stones in the world are involved.
